Sport school
TRACK AND FIELD SCHOOL
Lapin Lukko organized the track and field school year-round. In spring 2025, we have 3 groups: for 5-6 year old, 7-9 year old and 10-15 year old. The guiding is mainly in Finnish but English is also possible. Track and field is learned by doing so we think that a possible language barrier isn't a limiting factor.
SUMMER 2025
The summer season is getting closer and the enrolment to sport school is open now.
The summer season starts on 2th June (Groups for 7-9 y. o., 10-13 y. o. and 14-16 y. o.) and on 9th June (Groups for child-parent and 5-6 y. o.). It continues until the 14th August. In summer we train at Saarenkylän urheilukenttä (Napapiirintie 8).
Child-parent group (for 3-5 years old)
The trainings are held on Mondays from 6 p.m to 7 p.m.

Group for 5-6 years old
The trainings are held on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The total fee consists of the price of the sport school and the membership fee.
The fee includes the trainings, insurance (under 13 years old), a training t-shirt and participations in competitions organised by Lapin Lukko. From the age of 13, you have to get your own insurance.
The family member discount is -10 %. (One child at the norm price, the others at -10 %.)
Billing normally takes place periodically (In January the spring season (5 months), in June the summer season (3 months) and in September the autumn season (4 months).)
SPRING 2025
The spring season started on the 7th January and continues until the 15th May. Even if the season is already going on we have places left in our groups so you are welcome to come with.
Until end of the April we train at the Santasport sport hall (Hiihtomaja 2). Since May we will train outside, but closer we will inform you about training places.
The practices are not held during holiday week 10 and on May Day (1th May).
Group for 5-6 years old
The focus is on developing motoric basic skills by playing and trying different events.
The trainings are held on Thursdays from 6 p.m to 7 p.m.
Coaches are Lyra Rautio and Nella Välikangas.
Group for 7-9 years old
The focus is on practicíng basic techniques in track and field. We will try all the events. We practise a wide range of track and field from sprint to racewalk and from high jump to javelin throw.
The trainings are held on Tuesdays from 6 p.m to 7 p.m and on Thursdays from 7 p.m to 8 p.m.
Coach is Meiju Eskelinen.
Group for 10-15 years old
The focus is on developing further basic techniques in track and field. We practice all kind of track and field.
The trainings are held on Tuesdays from 6.45 p.m to 8.15 p.m and on Thursdays from 6 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
In addition, it is also possible to do exercises independently. Each week there are two training options: one at home and one at Santasport (on Mondays from 6 p.m to 7 p.m).
Coaches are Meiju Eskelinen, Niilo Höynälänmaa and Kaapo Heikkilä. Milla Koski-Vähälä is responsible for independent training.
Coaches: Niilo, Meiju, Nella and Lyra.

The enrolment to sport school occurs through Suomisport. Unfortunately, it is only in Finnish.
